AS Roma forward Francesco Totti turned 38 on Saturday, and with the goal scored yesterday against Manchester City he became the oldest scorer in the Champions League. He surpassed Ryan Giggs, who scored against Benfica at 37 years 290 days.
Taking into consideration also the "old" European Cup, the oldest scorer is still Real Madrid striker Ferenc Puskás, who scored (4 goals!) against Feyenoord on 22 September 1965, at 38 years 173 days. To surpass him, Totti will have to reach (and score a goal in) the quarter-finals of this Champions League's edition.
L'attaccante della Roma Francesco Totti ha compiuto 38 anni lo scorso sabato, e grazie al gol segnato ieri contro il Manchester City è diventato il più "anziano" marcatore nella storia della Champions League. Con la sua rete ha infatti superato Ryan giggs, che segnò contro il Benfica a 37 anni e 290 giorni.
Considerando anche la vecchia Coppa dei Campioni, il più anziano marcatore rimane l'attaccante del Real Madrid Ferenc Puskás, che segnò 4 reti contro il Feyenoord il 22 settembre del 1965, a 38 anni e 173 giorni. Per superare anche lui, Totti dovrà arrivare (e segnare) almeno ai quarti di finale di questa edizione della Champions League.
