European Cups: Legia Warsaw is the best team after the fourth matchday of the Group Stage

According to the ECRS, after the 4th matchday of the Group Stage Legia Warsaw* (Poland) are still at the top of the table; after the elimination from the Champions League, they won all the four matches played in the Europa League group, reaching a total of 286,57 points.
The second team is Dynamo Moscow (Russia) with a score or 247,97, and the third is Sparta Prague (Czech Republic) with 242,78 points.

The best team in the Champions League is Porto (Portugal), which is 4th overall with a score of 231,16.

The worst team still in the competition is Galatasaray (Turkey), who after having lost 0-4 and 1-4 against Borussia Dortmund fell to the 233th position (out of 239), with 11,89 points.

All the big teams are still far from the top positions, having entered the competitions only in the Group Stage: the best of the top European teams is Borussia Dortmund, who are 40th with 140,65 points.

* Please note: Legia Warsaw was punished by UEFA for fielding an ineligible player in their 2-0 second leg's win over Celtic in the third qualifying round. I decided to consider it as a 0-3 lost, as stated by the official UEFA sentence.

Secondo l'ECRS,  dopo la 4a giornata della fase a gironi il Legia Varsavia* (Polonia) è ancora in testa alla classifica, con 286,57 punti; dopo l'eliminazione dalla Champions, i polacchi hanno vinto tutte le quattro partite disputate nel girone di Europa League.
La squadra seconda in classifica è la Dinamo Mosca (Russia) con 247,97 punti, mentre al terzo posto c'è lo Sparta Praga (Repubblica Ceca) con 242,78 punti.

La squadra migliore che gioca ancora in Champions League è il Porto (Portogallo), che occupa la 4a posizione globale con un punteggio di 231,16.

La squadra peggiore ancora in gara è il Galatasaray (Turchia), che dopo essere stato sconfitto per 0-4 e 1-4 dal Borussia Dortmund si trova in 233esima posizione (su 239) con 11,89 punti.

The numbers of the Champions League - 4th matchday of the Group Stage

50 goals were scored in the 4th matchday of the group Stage, 9 goals less than the 3rd matchday but still a greater amount than the average (43,2) of the goals scored in the Group Stage matchdays since when 32 teams take part in this round (1999-2000 season).

Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine) won 5-0 against BATE Borisov (Belarus) , after having won 7-0 against them in the 3rd matchday. For the first time in the history of the Champions League's Group Stage, a team won two games against the same opponent with an aggregate difference of 12 goals. This result also equals the absolute record for the Champions League, already reached by MFK Kosice (first qualifying round in 1998-1999) and FC Copenhagen (second qualifying round in 2009-2010).
The previous record in such an advanced round, 11 goals, was set in 2008-2009 by Bayern Munich, who won 7-1 and 5-0 against Sporting Lisbon in the round of 16.
Considering also the European Cup, the absolute record is an 18-goal difference in the preliminary round of 1965-1966 season, when Benfica beat Stade Dudelange 8-0 and 10-0.

The match between Shakhtar Donetsk and BATE Borisov was the 6th in the history of the Champions League between teams of Ukraine and Belarus. Belarusian clubs never won: the balance sheet sees 5 wins for Ukrainian teams, 1 draw, 23 goals scored by Ukrainian teams and 4 scored by Belarusian ones.

The second team is Villareal (Spain). They made their way through the Europa League play-off, defeating Astana (Kazakhstan) with a 7-0 aggregate; they are now at the top of Group A, with 7 points. The team's total score is 225,50.
The third team in the ranking is Dinamo Minsk (Belarus), with 213,09 points.

The previous leaders (Dinamo Zagreb, Croatia) are now 5th after the 2-4 result against Red Bull Salzburg (Austria).

The best team in the Champions League is Porto (Portugal), which is 14th overall with a score of 180,63.
