Teams who scored and conceded the most (12 november 2016)

The top scoring team in Europe until now is Monaco (France), with an average of 3 goals per match (36 in 12 games). 
The team who conceded the most is Werder Bremen (Germany), with 2,70 goals per match (27 in 10 games).

The most prolific teams in the first half are Real Madrid (Spain) and Liverpool (England) with an average of 1,55 (17 goals in 11 games).
The best team in the second half is again Monaco, with 1,83 (22 in 12 games).

The team who conceded the most in the first half is Werder Bremen, with 1,3 (13 in 10 matches), and in the second half is Hamburger SV (Germany) with 1,8 (18 in 10 games).

According to the ECRS, after the 4th matchday of the European Cups the best team is Osmanlispor (Turkey), who started from the 2nd qualifying round of Europa League, totaling until now 7 wins, 2 draw and 1 defeat. The double match against Villarreal (1 win and 1 draw) gave them more than 60 points in the ranking. The team's total score is 181,23.
Monaco (France) are at the second place, with 176,82 points.
Copenhagen (Denmark) fell from the top place to the third, with 173,71 points.

Monaco is the best team in Champions League.

The worst team still in the competition is Club Brugge (Belgium), who are still at zero points in their Group. Now they are in the last position of the ECRS ranking, with 1 point. It is the first time that a team still in the competition in the group stage is at the bottom of the table.

According to the ECRS, after the 3rd matchday of the European Cups the best team is still Copenhagen (Denmark), even if they lost the latest game 0-1 at Leicester. The team's total score is 161,56.
Austria Wien (Austria) took the second place, with 157,80 points.
The third team (formerly second) is Hapoel Be'er Sheva (Israel), with 148,88 points.
None of the first three teams managed to win the last match they played.

Copenhagen is also the best team in Champions League.

The worst team still in the competition is Club Brugge (Belgium), who started directly from Champions League group stage, losing 0-3 to Leicester, 0-4 to Copenhagen and 1-2 to Porto. Now they are in the 231st position with 1,35 points.

European Cups Groups statistics

Following the ECRS, I made some calculations about the European Cups Group stage of the 2016/2017 season.

you find two sheets, one for the Champions League and the other for the Europa League.
For each team you find the score that they started the season with (based on the ECRS), and for each group you find:
- the average score
- the standard deviation
- the percent difference between the best team in the group and the average of that group

In Champions League the top group is the F (with Real Madrid), while the weakest is the G, due to the fact that the seeded club is Leicester, who has a score of zero since they have never played in the European Cups in the last 5 seasons.
The highest standard deviation is again in group G for the same reason as above, while the lowest is in group B, which should be the most balanced.
The top 3 teams in their own group should be Porto (Group G, 49,34% more points than the average), Real Madrid (Group F, 34,65%) and Barcelona (Group C, 32,37%).

In Europa League the top group is the J (with Fiorentina), while the weakest is the H.
The highest standard deviation is in group F, while the lowest is in group J (with only 1,49 points).
The top 3 teams in their own group should be Shakhtar Donetsk (Group H, 56,65% more points than the average), Athletic Club (Group F, 55,07%) and Steaua Bucaresti (Group L, 50,13%).

trovate due fogli, uno per la Champions e l'altro per l'Europa League.
Per ciascuna squadra trovate il punteggio con cui ha iniziato la stagione (secondo l'ECRS), e per ciascun gruppo trovate:
- il punteggio medio
- la deviazione standard
- la differenza percentuale tra la squadra migliore nel gruppo e la media di quel gruppo

In Champions League il gruppo migliore è l'F (quello con il Real Madrid), mentre il più debole è il G, a causa del fatto che la testa di serie è il Leicester, che ha un punteggio di zero dato che non ha mai giocato in Europa negli ultimi 5 anni.
Per lo stesso motivo la deviazione standard più alta è ancora nel gruppo G, mentre la più bassa è nel gruppo B, che dovrebbe essere il più equilibrato.
Le 3 squadre migliori nei rispettivi gironi dovrebbero essere il Porto (Gruppo G, 49,34% punti in più rispetto alla media), il Real Madrid (Gruppo F, 34,65%) e il Barcellona (Gruppo C, 32,37%).

In Europa League il gruppo più forte è il J (quello con la Fiorentina), mentre il più debole è l'H.
La deviazione standard più alta è nel gruppo F, mentre quella più bassa è nel gruppo J (con solo 1,49 punti).
