My European Cups Coefficients for 2016/2017 season

I calculated the coefficients for the clubs and the football associations that will take part in the 2016/2017 European Cups, following my European Cups Ranking System.

At this link you will find two sheets: one for the clubs (Club Quinquennial Score) and the other for the associations (National Quinquennial Score), both sorted by alphabetical order and by score.
In the "Clubs" sheet, the "Cup" column indicates the Cup that the team started, but some Champions League clubs will end up playing the Europa League, as they will be eliminated in the third qualifying round, in the play-offs or in the group stage. Clubs with zero points didn't participate in the European Cups in the last five years.

Comparison between first and second half in European leagues

I made some calculations about the performance of the clubs in the first and second half of their domestic matches.

These are the results at the end of the 2015/2016 season.

W1, D1 and L1 are wins, draws and losses considering only the first half.
W2, D2 and L2 are wins, draws and losses considering only the second half.
I considered only the teams with a number of W1 or L1 games equal at least to one third of the total number of matches played.
When two capital letters are written, the first is the result at halftime, and the second is the result at the end of the match. For example, LD means that the team was losing at halftime, but eventually managed to equalize the match. Of course, W=win, D=draw, L=loss.

The best teams in keeping the lead was Juventus (Italy) with 20 WW out of 20 W1 matches; also Benfica (Portugal) got 100% in this statistic, but in 19 W1 games. There are other 5 teams with full marks, but they didn't reach the threshold of one third of W1 matches out of the totality of the matches played.
The worst team in keeping the lead was Darmstadt 98 (Germany), with 4 WL and 4 WD out of 13 W1; in the second halves of these matches they lost 1,54 points per game.
The best teams in coming back was Arminia Bielefeld (Germany), with 3LW and 6 LD out of 13 L1; in the second halves of these games, the team gained 1,15 points per match.
The worst team in coming back was Palermo (Italy), with 15 LL out of 15 L1. Also Frosinone (Italy) and Caen (France) got 100% and met the threshold, but in 13 games.

No team managed to never trail at the end of the first half; PSG (France) was the best, with 2 L1 out of 38 matches played.

Real Madrid (Spain) was the best team as for the average points made at the end of the first half: 2,26 (26 W1, 8 D1 and 4 L1).
The worst team after the first half was Hannover 96 (Germany), with 3 W1, 9 D1 and 22 L1 (0,53 average points).

The best team in the second half was Borussia Dortmund (Germany) with 25 W2, 7 D2 and 2 L2 (2,41 average points).
The worst team was Paderborn (Germany) with 4 W2, 12 D2 and 18 L2 (0,71 average points).

The teams who did best at the end of the match comparing to the first half were Benfica (Portugal) and Bayern Munich (Germany), who passed from 19/11/4 in the first half (2 average points) to respectively 29/1/4 and 28/4/2 (2,59 points), with a positive difference of 0,59 average points per match.
The worst team was Vitoria Setubal (Portugal), who passed from 11/12/11 in the first half (1,32 points) to 6/12/16 (0,88 points), with a negative difference of 0,44 average points per match.

Note: all the data are all from the 2015/2016 season, and refer to the domestic leagues of England, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain.

European Cups: Wolfsburg won the 2015/2016 ECRS ranking

According to the ECRS, at the end of the 2015/2016 season the best team is Wolfsburg (Germany), with 457,63 points.
The high score is due to their coefficient, 32,72, one of the lowest of this year's Cups. The coefficient was low because in the last 5 years Wolfsburg took part only in 2014-2015 Europa League's, having not be able to qualify in the previous 4 years.
This year, they were eliminated by Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, but they managed to get a lot of points having beaten the Blancos 2-0 in the first leg. The difficulty coefficient for that round was very high, 2,437, so they got 127 points even having lost 0-3 in Madrid.
Before that, they won the Group Stage with 12 points (4 wins and 2 losses), and beat Gent in the Round of 16 (3-2 and 1-0).

The second team in the ranking is Bayern Munich (Germany) with 408,60 points, and the third one is Manchester City (England) with 369,54 points.

The best team in Europa League was Villareal (Spain), who finished in 6th position with 345,55 points.

The complete ranking is here.
